Neck reset on a D-2R
Is a neck reset on a D-2R easier than one on a standard neck? I just noticed mine has opened up about 0.011" at the heel. Is this something that should be addressed immediately or keep playing it...

That's not the typical cause of a neck reset. A dovetail joint actually coming loose is quite rare, but the M/T joints come loose enough to get noticed. It's probably still not exactly common....
